July 22, 2024, 2-4 PM Eastern. Fundraising Essentials with Kristin Broner of The Broner Firm and Auburn Hicks of ActBlue. ASL Interpretation and CART captioning provided. Brought to you by ActBlue and Disability Victory.

Description: If you’re running for office, fundraising is an essential but sometimes intimidating skill to master for your campaign. Join Disability Victory and ActBlue for a two-hour workshop to improve your fundraising skills and get campaign ready! During the first part of our training, Kristin Broner of The Broner Firm will teach you about the essential skills you need to successfully fundraise as a candidate or campaign staff. We’ll learn about the processes of fundraising, including “rolodexing” your contacts and making an ask, as well as how to build the confidence you need to successfully raise money.

During the second part of this training, we’ll be joined by Auburn Hicks of ActBlue to learn about digital fundraising: why is digital fundraising essential? How can we reframe the way we think about asking for money? Why are small-dollar donors important? Our Digital Fundraising Intro will tackle these questions and outline steps an organization/candidate can take to dive into digital fundraising. We'll also cover best practices for fundraising online, explore how to ask for money, and build your own fundraising ask.

This session will have CART captioning and American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. It will be recorded for playback. To request the slide deck in advance or additional accommodations, please note them when you register through Zoom or contact hello@disabilityvictory.org.
